Hydralign
Efficiency:
Hydralign offers racing and cruising yachts maximum performance under power with minimum drag under sail. It achieves the optimum operational effiency through its wide range of easily adjusted blade pitch to suit the shape, weight and engine capacity of each vessel.
Hydralign presents more blade area to the water under power than similar designs, yet feathers smoothly to a minimum drag configuration under sail.
Ease of Operation:
Hydralign is feathered by simply stopping shaft rotation. Stopping the engine with clutch engaged for hydraulic transmissions, or engaging the clutch after stopping the motor while moving forward, for engines with a mechanical transmissions.
Shifting into forward or reverse gear automatically re-sets the blade pitch for thrust.
Reverse:
Hydralign can reverse a boat with the same efficiency as its forward thrust with no risk of "prop fold". Engaging reverse gear sets the blades in the same pitch as for motoring ahead.
Constuction:
High quality 2C100 manganese bronze alloy and 316 stainless steel ensure long life and dependability. Operation is robust because of bigger, more functional, gearing mechanisms cleverly housed in a sleek casing which presents minimum resistance.
Simplicity of Adjustment:
Fine tuning the Hydralign is simplicity itself.
- Remove the pinion body from the drive collar, which is held in place by eight stainless steel socket screws.
- Remove the adjusting pinion, rotate it the required amount of increments on the spline - in the same direction as shaft rotation for an increase in pitch, reverse for a decrease.
- Replace the pinion body, set each blade in its working position and tighten the screws.
